Content analysis

1# This cover features the distinctive 'EMPIRE' title, bold, red and very eye-catching towards the audience. The cover also features Daniel Radcliffe in the centre grasping a wider range of potential costumers for this issue .

2# This cover features Megan Fox as eye candy, obviously aiming for the male market and going so far as to cover the 'EMPIRE' logo with her demonstrating that this magazine is popular and well known enough to know what it's called anyway thus making it stand out more.

These are a couple of movie poster examples of which i hope to use as inspiration for my own, comparing these together they come across as being very different, for example the 'Paranormal Activity' poster has the title on the poster, as this is the first film this makes sense, however on the 'Nightmare On Elm Street' poster we get no title only '2010' and the web address written in small font, this shows how well the franchise of 'Nightmare On Elm Street' is known by only having the shadowy figure of Freddy Krueger  showing off his gigantic hedge trimmer.

Trailer Examples: 'Paranormal Activity 2'

This trailer is what i hope i final production to be similar too, the use of 'home video' style camera work is just what is needed for my work to meet the genre of film i have chosen.

My Plan Of Action (Part 1)

To begin with i will first design a storyboard of how my trailer will play out, this will help in directing it later on and to help have a clear view of layouts and props to use aswell as ideas for locations and types of characters. My storyboard can be seen above this post.

Next i will begin experimenting with different camera techniques, shaky cam is ideal to start with as it offers lots different effects and is used in many horrors that we will be similar too, eg. 'Paranormal Activity', 'The Blair Witch Project' are some examples that use this camera work successfully. However another challenge is making a stand for a steady camera to use if needed, assuming the shaky camera doesn't give the desired effect needed.

Finally i will be designing a magazine cover for my teaser trailer, by looking at popular movie magazines such as 'Empire' and 'Total Film' i will get a general idea and understanding of what makes an eye catching and engaging poster and working on it from their.
